Maintenance Log Template for Small Hotels and B&Bs

A maintenance log stops small faults from turning into bad reviews and gives you evidence of safety checks.

Log every fault

• Date, room, what's wrong, who reported it
• Priority: safety / guest-affecting / cosmetic
• Action, by whom, cost, date closed

Recurring checks

• Smoke detector tests (monthly, see VUGD guidance)
• Boiler, heat pump and gas service
• Chimney and stove inspections
• Electrical inspection dates
• Water heater temperature and descaling

Room blocks

If a fault makes a room unsellable, block it in the channel manager right away to avoid an arrival into a broken room.
